I Love Not Spending My Money…

53269208064120525_ZA3aBECQ_cYou know what I love? I love Visa/MasterCard gift cards. I got quite a few of them for Christmas and decided to hold onto them instead of spending them right away, and it has turned out to be a great choice!

I have a baby shower for my best friend coming up in about a month and since her and her family went crazy buying stuff for the baby she doesn’t need much in the way of “typical” baby shower gifts. So I decided to get crafty and make something for the nursery; and I used one of the Visa gift cards to buy all of the supplies I didn’t have! (Will have pictures when I finish)

I have also wanted an external flash for my camera for a very long time now and just didn’t have the money to spend on one, until now. I used another visa gift card to buy this bad boy:605922

Now it is not exactly the flash I wanted, but at least I can get some experience using an external flash before I spend a pile of money on a more professional one.

Speaking of experience, I have a maternity shoot this Sunday with the friend I mentioned above which will be an awesome chance to test out the new flash! This will be the first shoot I have done with people I know/ friends of mine which is strange to think but pretty exciting!

I have to say that saving the gift cards turned out to be a great choice. The feeling of buying things I want or need without actually having to spend my money was awesome. What was even more awesome is the fact that I saved them for something I needed instead of blowing it all on clothes and other crap I have no use for!
